500 Days of Summer
This is not a rom-com. I repeat, this is not a rom-com. 500 Days of Summer is so rooted in reality, so relatable, so up and down, anyone who's ever loved, been loved, or even had a grade school crush will be able to relate in some capacity. These are not millionaires on a boat trip to find a hidden treasure who fall in love after they realize the true treasure has been eachother. They're not entering a contest to win a date with a celebrity only to realize the geek next door is really the only person worth gushing over. They're not on the rebound, or looking for love in all the wrong places. This was a very refreshing take on the "genre" that I highly recommend.
