Marmaduke

An obvious cash in on a recognizable name when the plot involves a talking dog (granted, he can speak only to other animals) from which it's source material never spoke. No, I am not a Marmaduke fanboy, but I did spend a lot of Sundays at Grandma's reading her old comic strips saved from the Sunday paper. This film features a Great Dane owned by the Winslow family, and that's where the comparisons to the comic strip ends. The rest is a rehash of every "overcoming the odds of moving to a new town" that we've seen so many times before on TV, film and print. George Lopez, despite delivering the best lines of the movie, cannot save this movie alone. Pathetic. You can't do much worse than this. Avoid at all costs.
